Why exhibitors return to DigiGov, in their own words

Past DigiGov exhibitors and sponsors share their experiences of meeting senior public sector decision-makers, joining discussions on digital transformation, building partnerships and generating high-quality conversations across central government, local government and the wider public sector.

Elsewhen

High engagement during the event, after the AI Theatre presentation and across social media.

“Elsewhen had a high level of engagement from the event both during the event, following our presentation on the AI Theatre and through our social media channels.”

Cloudflare

High-quality conversations with customers and potential customers across the public sector.

“It’s been a very positive event for us. We’ve had some very high-quality conversations with a number of individuals across the public sector. It’s an opportunity for us to connect with customers as well as potential customers.”

Sabio

Cross-event footfall helped the team meet more stakeholders efficiently.

“What really stood out about DigiGov was the combination of multiple different events all merging into one. So in Citizen Experience, where we are massively focused, there is an increased footfall from Cyber, GovICT and GovTech. That made it an easier decision for us to meet as many stakeholders in an efficient way as possible, and actually had some really productive conversations that you wouldn’t necessarily have when you’re just looking at one technology pillar.”

eGain

Senior attendees actively planned to visit the stand and start conversations.

“It’s really worked for us. We’ve had a lot of senior people coming and saying, ‘I planned to come and see you, I want to talk to you.’ That’s gold dust whenever you get that.”

Adobe

Emma Hewage, Public Sector Marketing Manager

“The quality of the conversations has been excellent.”

“Our mission is all about changing the world through digital experiences. We get involved in events like Digital Government because getting out and listening to what people are thinking about — what’s front of mind for them, the opportunities and the challenges — is a really important part of how we do business.

We’ve had a really great day here at Digital Government. It’s been absolutely fantastic to meet so many different people and have conversations with them. We’ve really enjoyed sitting in on some of the sessions we’ve been able to attend. The quality of the conversations has been excellent.

Our speaker also participated in the panel this morning, and that was a great opportunity for us to share our voice and our point of view.

For Adobe, when we’re thinking about digital experiences, we’re always thinking about what’s around the corner and how we can help invent the future. For us, that’s really about putting people — and in this case, citizens — front and centre.

As government departments, arm’s-length bodies, and the health service think about how they can digitise their operations, they should consider how to put the user at the centre of that process. Ask: What is this person trying to achieve? What job do they need to get done? What’s the best way of delivering that experience?

By doing that — and doing it really well — they’ll unlock benefits around efficiency, cost savings, and scaling digital skills, all of which we know government is working hard to address.”

CPS

Jonathon Poole, Senior Sales Lead, Public Sector Enterprise

“The footfall throughout the event has been fantastic.”

“One of the main reasons CPS chose to sponsor today was our focus on the public sector and supporting digital transformation across all areas of government.

We work closely with both central and local government, and some of our key customers — including the Cabinet Office, HMRC, and the Ministry of Justice — are keynote speakers here today. We wanted to support them and give them the opportunity to share, in their own words, the journeys they’re currently on.

The footfall throughout the event has been fantastic. We’ve seen a great mix of decision-makers, business analysts, and people who are keen to embrace the digital transformation journey. So, yes, it’s been a really successful event for us so far.

CPS is absolutely looking to attend the event again in 2024. It’s been a great success for us, and we’re looking forward to next year and everything it brings.”

Amazon Web Services

Harneet Singh, Senior Solution Specialist, AWS for Data

“Generative AI and large language models have enormous potential, provided they’re implemented in the right way and with strong ethical principles.”

“It’s been really great. There were a couple of sessions focused on AI and the future that AI holds for government, with lots of discussions around how AI can transform public services.

There were some excellent insights into the Amazon Bedrock capabilities, but before we think about generative AI, it’s even more important to understand the governance that needs to sit behind it — particularly the ethical considerations surrounding AI. Those topics were discussed in depth throughout the day.

There were a lot of great perspectives shared by leaders from across the government sector, talking about the power of AI and large language models and the opportunities they present. It’s a very exciting time.

We’ve been meeting stakeholders ranging from middle management through to senior leadership, including Chief Data Officers from across government. We’ve had some great conversations about their data strategy goals, which align closely with the National Data Strategy.

There were also some excellent discussions around how those data strategies can be brought to life using the smart technologies available today — from data ingestion through to visualisation.

The key takeaways from the event are that generative AI and large language models have enormous potential, provided they’re implemented in the right way and with strong ethical principles. The second takeaway is the importance of reducing bias in AI algorithms and ensuring these technologies are developed responsibly to genuinely benefit citizens, rather than remaining as proof-of-concept projects that never reach production.

There were also some valuable discussions around data strategy, particularly the idea that data strategy is as much about culture as it is about technology. As the saying goes, data is the new oil, so it’s important that organisations are able to harness its value whenever they need to.”

Content Guru

Recommended for organisations looking to build their public sector business.

“Great event, would recommend to any organisation looking to build their public sector business.”

Thoughtbot

Roundtable and speaker engagement led to promising conversations.

“Great engagement at our roundtable and attendees at our speaker slot, leading to a number of interesting and promising conversations.”

Dynatrace

An opportunity to share their Central Government story and connect with partners.

“Fantastic to be able to share our story of working with Central Government and hopefully working with other partners.”

Rackspace

Simon Bennet, CTO

“Our session generated strong interest around solving technical debt.”

“I think there are two main reasons for us being here.

Firstly, it’s about making sure the Rackspace name is well known among the public sector organisations we’re now working with and engaging.

Secondly, it’s about meeting people. We’ve been able to meet many people face to face for the first time in two years, and that’s so much better than Zoom, Webex, or Microsoft Teams.

From my session, one of the biggest themes was the interest in solving the challenges of technical debt. A lot of people came to speak to me afterwards about how we can help, and it was encouraging to hear that many organisations are facing similar problems and challenges.

More broadly, the event has been about bringing people together, meeting face to face, and having the opportunity to chat. It’s been absolutely brilliant. There’s nothing quite like standing together and having a conversation over a coffee.”

KPMG

Laura Webb, Head of Tech Transformation

“Customer experience is critical. Having the workforce at the heart of everything government does is essential.”

“Attending events like this gives us the opportunity to meet with our clients and the wider ecosystem of partners that we work with to help transform government.

It’s been fantastic to see so many people here today, and the conversations and energy in the room have been absolutely amazing.

I’ve just come off stage, which was a slightly daunting experience in this new, non-virtual world! Delivering a presentation in front of a live audience again is something I’m definitely going to need a bit more practice at.

The key takeaways for me are that everyone this morning has been talking about the same themes. Customer experience is critical. Having the workforce at the heart of everything government does is essential. And everyone is looking at how government services can become more connected to deliver better outcomes.

I’m having an amazing time at the event so far, and I’d like to thank everyone who has put so much effort and energy into attending, presenting, and supporting the work that’s being done.”

Genesys

Keith Fulford, UKI Public Sector Strategy Lead

“Events like these are invaluable because they allow us to speak with those individuals directly.”

“The main reason for sponsoring an event like this is to give us direct access to the people who use our services across different parts of government. Events like these are invaluable because they allow us to speak with those individuals directly, rather than only engaging with the people we typically meet during a procurement process.

My key takeaway from today is that, by speaking with more and more people, we’ve gained a wide range of perspectives, different viewpoints, and new ways of thinking. People have shared some fantastic ideas with us, and without an event like this, it’s very easy to become focused on just one perspective. Receiving that breadth of feedback is incredibly valuable to us.

I’ve really enjoyed the day so far. It’s been brilliant. I enjoy talking to people anyway, and it’s been great to meet people from different government organisations, as well as potential partners.

It’s an event where you can build new relationships, explore partnership opportunities, and exchange ideas. From that perspective, it’s been absolutely brilliant. I’m loving it.”

WalkMe

Edward Lancaster, Digital Adoption Advisor

“The quality of the audience has been excellent.”

“It was a fantastic opportunity to meet people face to face and share the WalkMe story, demonstrating how we can help organisations across the public sector.

We’re delighted to be a Silver Sponsor here today, on 18 May. It’s been a fantastic event and a great day.

The quality of the audience has been excellent. We’ve had the opportunity to showcase our technology, meet with key decision-makers, and have some really valuable conversations. We’re looking forward to the remaining sessions.

The day’s been phenomenal. I particularly like the ability to pre-book meetings through the event website, and then, throughout the day, we’ve been able to create even more opportunities simply by networking with people.

Once again, well done to the organisers — it’s been an amazing event.”
